Adult size only

These slippers are worked in 8 ply (DK) acrylic yarn with a 4mm hook. I’ve worked the white toe piece, then the tongue over 12 sts and with a curve at the top. The sole was then worked on the other side the same as the tongue, but over 14 sts. The curve at the heel end makes the body easy to work up from it with no joins.

Terms used are UK so where I’ve used dc = sc US, tr = dc US, etc.

More rows could be added to the top of the boot if desired. Should fit almost any adult foot, including my husband ;-) Could be adapted for almost any foot by adjusting the shaping of the toe to fit the foot, then working the sole so that it fits the foot slightly stretched. The shaping row for the body of the foot should line up with the top of the instep.

Pattern TOE -

  • With WHITE, work 12 tr in a ring. Join with sl st to beg.
  • Work 2 tr into each st. Join with sl st to beg.– 24.
  • Work 1 tr in next 2, 2 tr next, to end. Join with sl st to beg. – 32.
  • & 5. Work 1 tr into ea st. Join with sl st to beg. Break off or join red.

TONGUE –

Make curve – 1 ch, sk 1, dc in next, htr in next, tr in next 4, htr, dc, sk 1 sl st to last. Break off.

SOLE -

BOOT – Join WHITE to toe in second st from beginning of sole piece. Work sts into the sole, remembering to work 2 tr into each tr lying across and 1 tr into the end of the dc row, then 1 tr into each st around the curve. When you come to where the tongue lies, sl st into the top of the white st on the toe so there will be 2 sts worked into that white st.

  • Work 1 row of 1 tr in each st to end, sl st to toe skipping one st. TURN.
  • Work 1 row of 1 dc in each st to end, sl st to toe in next st. TURN.
  • Work 1 row of 1 tr in each st to end, sl st to toe skipping one st. TURN. Break off white. Join RED to next toe st and continue.
  • Work 1 row of 1 dc in each st to end, sl st to toe in next st. TURN.
  • Work 1 row of 1 tr in each st to end, sl st to toe skipping one st. TURN.
  • Work 1 row of 1 dc in each st to end, sl st to toe in next st. TURN.
  • Start shaping lacing flap –tr in next 12, (1 tr, 1 dtr, 1 tr) in next, tr in each to last 16, (1 tr, 1 dtr, 1 tr) in next, tr in next 12, 2 dc in next, dc in next, sk 1, sl st to next st on toe. TURN.
  • 1 ch, sk 1, dc in next, 2 dc in next, dc in next 12, (dc, htr) in next, tr in each to last 16, (dc, htr) in next, dc in next 12, 2 dc in next, dc in next, sk 1, sl st to next st on toe.
  • Repeat last row.
  • Repeat last row.
  • Repeat last row. Break off.
  • Join to first tr at top of boot, work dc in each around the top to stabilise. Break off. Thread laces.

DISC DETAIL - With WHITE, work 12 tr in a ring, then work (1 dc in next, 2 dc in next) to end. Break off. Stitch on with black.

Hope you enjoy making these! Toni
